For Now… It’s Music

If you haven’t already concluded this from the last two weeks of posting, my day job is draining the life out of me. From comments here, discussions outside of the blogosphere and my own personal reflections I have decided that a music career is what will fulfill me on every level. It’s my passion.

I think, commercially, it will have to be a combination of teaching, performing, composing, and recording but nothing about any of those four facets scares me. I also can’t promise when I’ll have completed enough research and work to move enough “Bryan Stock” into this project to call it a career. I am committing to take steps, however, and substantial steps. It’s time to do more than write about it. It’s an official goal now.

Do it! Do it! And then quit your job by rocking out on top of your desk. I believe you have the talent and the smarts to make this happen. Heck, maybe you pulling this off would finally convince me that I can follow my dreams. I believe in you and keep in mind- I am the greatest person alive.

As another guy who has a deep passion for music too, all I can say is:
    1-You’re a brave guy.
2-If it feels like the right choice, go for it!

Sincere whishes of the best of luck for following your dream, Bryan.

I’ve actually put a good bit of thought into this lately because I am keenly aware of the distaste you have for your job.
I noticed on your list of intersections that, of course, you combined a lot of your gifts and passions. The one combination that I did not see that may be a good possibility for you is the combination of your strong faith and your musical gifts. I know that you have dabbled in this, leading music at church and such, but it seems to me that there would be a pretty big market for something combining the two. So many churches are going to such a contemporary format that more and more people are aware of “Christian Rock” (for lack of a better term). Just something to think about.
Proud of you for the goal and you know I’ll do whatever I can to support you.

Awesome, believe it or not, your music career coincides greatly with my Zip Masta Zack career!
